I hope the owner doesn't mind but I thought that I might announce here that we are about to start the rebuild of the type 'C' which featured on the owners club stand at NEC recently.

With the specification of the car now sorted we will soon be stripping the car down so that I can start the necessary chassis modifications to make this car look a little more settled and in tune with the body once fitted.
One of the detail differences will be in the wheels, we intend to fit 15" wire wheels to the car which involves designing and manufacturing wheel adapters to take the wire wheel spline. I have done the preliminary work and got a prototype fitted to see if the idea floats, the next step is to manufacture the finished adapters so that we can fit them to the car.
The restoration will hopefully start making progress soon. _________________ Working to increase the profile of Rochdale Cars |

We have started stripping all the paint off the body of this car before we strip the whole thing down to assess the chassis and make the necessary modifications to make it usable in modern traffic whilst still maintaining its integrity as a 1950's special. _________________ Working to increase the profile of Rochdale Cars |

Once you start to strip paint off a car its always interesting to follow the past history. In the case of this one it is fairly obvious that it has had a bit of a 'coming together' with something quite hard. Thankfully we have all the pieces so the repair won't be too difficult.

The type 'C' is still having all the paint removed, however we have been able to do a mock up of the new nose aperture.

The vast majority of the paint is now off the type 'C' body and we have started the repairs to the damage which has occurred during its long life.
The new nose/radiator aperture has been finalised and will be finished in high build primer as the rest of the car catches up.
The back of the car has also taken a bit of a hit in the past, thankfully like all fibreglass cars if you pick up all the bits (or most of them) you can effect a good repair given time and a bit of effort.
Before above, after repair below.
