I am planning to upgrade the wiring harness on my GT (6224 BT) and would value any thoughts or suggestions. It runs on 12 volts and still uses a dynamo. My questions are: 1) Should I go for a Dynamator or whatever they're called? 2) would it be better to use a standard loom such as a Mk1/2 Escort or something similar? 3) My wipers are still vacuum, which is fun but I kind of like them, so shall I retain them?. 4) If I go the alternator route can I do without such things as ballast resistors? 5) Has anybody done it and if so what problems did they meet? Thanks in anticipation of any replies. |

Hello Andrew
With a relatively simple car like the Rochdale, I'd build from scratch. I did a couple of articles on the subject for the magazine which I could send if of interest.
Regards,

Hi Andrew, i am in the same boat as you, but i am sure there was a post on the forum regarding someone who would make one up to the specification you require, all he needed was the make of car, width and length, he made it in three parts for ease of fitting, hope this helps, Graham. |

Hi Howard,
I would be grateful if you could send me copies of the articles if you have them. Perhaps I have them already in a back issue of the magazine. Do you remember which editions?
Kind regards,
Andy |
