The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) is encouraging everyone with an old car to be out and about on St Gearges Day, Sunday 23rd of April to raise the profile of the historic vehicle movement.
This will be a truly national day and the intention is to show the public just how many older cars are around.
If the vehicle is suitable therefore use it on that day instead of moderm transport, for a day out or just shopping, or just stick it in the front drive for the day.
The choice of date is the anniversary of the 1900 Thousand Mile Trial which was at the time a pioneering effort to show the practicality of the motor car.
FBHVC exists to uphold the freedom to use old vehicles and Drive it Day is part of an ongoing campaign to raise public awareness of the historic vehicle movement, so the 23rd of April will be like a giant 'bring your car day' and look out for plenty of other surprising road users! |
