|
|
I have been busy lately on JJH 20G (Rochdale Olympic lightweight, ex John Anstice brown car) I have to sort out the pedal box assembly for the car and I am about to reproduce the original which was a cross between the normal Phase one and a phase two pedal box. It uses 2 horizontal master cylinders instead of the Mini type, the brake and clutch pedal are also extended and the bore size on the brake is 0.7 (0.625 clutch).
I have been reading the thread on ph 2 pedal boxes and could possibly be persuaded to make some of these too if there is enough interest. |

I've been looking at floor mounted, or top hanging aftermarket ones.
If you havea heavy clutch go 0.75 . . .and definitely 0.75 brakes, or 2 x 0.625 if using bias set up. the pedal will be wooden enough as it is if a Turners anything to go by! |

Thanks, I used a 0.7 brake master on my roadgoing Phase 1 for about 25 years as a daily hack and that wasn't a problem, it would be nice to use twins but I'm not sure of the possition with regulations. What size do you use on the clutch for a Ford gearbox. |

there are 2 different slave cylinders, just match them up . . . the big 0.75 is for the Twin cam cluth @ 8 1/4"
, the smaller std ones are fine for precrossflow (7 1/4") or crossflow 7 1/2"
get them the wrong way round and you either don't get enough travel, or you pop the piston out of the slave! |

Now it's work well, I have a good feeling and good brakes, with black smoke on my front wheels _________________ Alexandre Contat
